Common questions

My miles aren't moving my hiker

2650 reads walking and running distance from Apple Health. Check that:

Walked miles are saved in your mile bank and never expire. The trail hands out up to 40 miles per day, so a big backlog arrives over the next few days.

How long does the whole trail take?

It depends on how much you walk. At 5 miles a day, Campo to Canada takes about a year and a half, like a real journey. The map in your backpack shows your pace and estimated finish date.

Is my progress backed up? What about a new phone?

2650 has no accounts and no cloud sync. Your journey is saved on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes the save. Restoring a full iPhone backup that includes the app usually brings your journey back with it.

There's no sound

Check the ring/silent switch or Action button. Like many games, 2650 stays quiet when your iPhone is set to silent. Sound can also be turned off in the backpack › Settings.

Does 2650 track my location or collect data?

No. There is no GPS, no account, no ads and no analytics. Your Health data never leaves your iPhone. Read the full privacy policy.

Is this an official Pacific Crest Trail app?

No. 2650 is an independent game inspired by the trail and the people who hike it. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the Pacific Crest Trail Association or the U.S. Forest Service. For real trail information and permits, visit pcta.org.
